If you use a Mac and are willing to put in some time testing to make the map Mac-compatible, post here.

Mac user here. I DL 1.20 and yeah either i crash/freeze at the hero select or manage to get some gameplay if I choose random hero. Give or take, about 5-10 mins in, crash.

Ill see what other info i can provide next time I give it a go.

FYI my current OS info:

MAC OS X V10.6.3

That's all that would be necessary. I'm going to delete a bunch of files and then you can load it and see if the problems disappear.

So i tried V.O 1.21 (mac)

What went well:
- was able to select hero, in v. 120 i had to random for a hero or it would crash.
- was able to equip orbs into slots without crash
- Played for a more extensive time ( single player ), prior version would crash in 5 or mins.

What went wrong:
- I crashed once i clicked on the secret shop vendors. =/
- Crashed on the maximum heroes option upon selecting the 6th hero.

I'll provide what more i can later.

That's just weird. If it's a problem with textures, it really shouldn't come and go like that. 1.20 was crash-prone anyway though, so you should compare 1.19 and 1.21. Forget 1.20 ever existed.

Running OS 10.5.8:

Vers 1.21 doesn't appear to be any different from previous versions. I still freeze up when selecting certain heroes (Inquis, Jimmy, Pirate) or shortly after selection (Pory and Blood Mage seem to freeze me when I open the Hero Skills on the command card—so that issue might be related to the tooltips?). Both of the neutral shops will freeze War3 when clicked on.

Other than this it seems pretty stable. If I'm willing to forego these heroes and items, I can play a full game just fine.

Nothing was changed for Macs in 1.21 so that's to be expected. The crashes certainly aren't tooltip related. Most likely they're icon related, both for heroes and for shops. The catch is, Jimmy's icon and texture are both stock, so you really shouldn't be having any issues just selecting him. Hm.

Thanks for checking the heroes individually, by the way. That's the most useful kind of information for me to have.

All icons have been removed in this version.

Edit: I'm amused by how much the map shrinks when icons are removed.

I just tried all the heroes in the mac test version. I'm also running 10.5.8.

I was unable to cause the game to crash, having tried every ability and having bought every item. It was awesome! Though I admit I haven't done any real extensive testing, I wanted to share the good news

Tested Beta mac version.

Didnt find an issue. Tried Maximum heroes, random and normal. No issues. No crashing after x amount of time or neutral vendors. This was for both Undead and Human sides.

Only obvious issue was the removal of icons. Other than that, nothing else to report. Good job.

Well we aren't done yet. The next step is to import icons under a variety of settings to figure out which ones work and which ones don't. Then I can reconvert the icons from TGAs using the settings we know will work for Macs, and you guys will finally be able to play.

Checked that; my mistake. Jimmy can be selected just fine but crashes the program when I open his Hero Skills pane, same as Blood Mage and Pory.

As far as the Mac-version above, I can corroborate what's been said: everything works perfectly with the icons removed.

So the BR's icons didn't cause any problems in 1.19?

Oddly enough ... BR has always worked just fine for me.

Or at least it was fine in 1.16 and 1.21. I missed 1.19.

As far as I know it's every icon which is compressed to less than 85% quality.

But the Mariner crashes as soon as you choose him, and not after opening the abilities menu?
