But on a more serious note, you know what pisses me off most right now. The argumentative ineptitude of the public when confronted with the experienced rhetoric of the church, that's the one thing they are good at.
Right now, their most important argumentative pillar is saying over and over again this:
"This problem is not specific to the church, it happens everywhere"
coupled with "thus it has nothing to do with our sexual morality" and "the liberal sexual revolution of 60/70 is really to blame; now it eats its own kids." and concluding to "we don't need to adapt, and you have no right meddling in our affairs, you are infringing our free way of life"
This is basically their whole defense and their last straw, and they just say it at every occasion like it was one of their litanies. And they manage to somehow get off the hook in conversations, because the interviewers and talkshows can't handle it.
They have luck they don't have to face us. The first thing I'd reply to "This problem is not specific to the church, it happens everywhere" is: Oh, so the church is like everywhere else after all! And here I thought the church was special, that it would deserve its extraordinary status and trust and benefits and competitive advantages, because they'd not be like everywhere else.
I'd lay back and watch his face turn pale, as his lame defense backfired into a backbreaking fundamental question. And then, to "thus it has nothing to do with our sexual morality", I'd go: You mean the one you've never really obliged to yourself? And yet have made a pain in the ass to everyone, the way your people were a pain in the ass to those kids?
By now, his face turned red, he'd stutter and gasp for breath, while I'd stomp all over "you have no right meddling in our affairs, you are infringing our free way of life": Like the way your people infringed on those helpless kid's way of life? Now we wouldn't want that, would we! No, contrary to them, you get to cry to everyone's notice and hide behind your rights and money, while we touch on all those parts you don't want us to touch.
But sadly, they are not brought to us for judgment, they are rather given platform to keep some doubters on the long line, than have them convincingly put to justice.
Nein, nein, nein! Do not be so little! When I say answer it, I mean respond to it, to Them.
