Computer blocks when connecting speakers

Postby Boolerian » Fri Nov 26, 2010 11:54 pm

My roommate has this 8 year old pc with XP, 512 ddr ram, geforce mx 400, 1.5 ghz intel procesor... but I don't think that any of that mathers.
The thing is that when we connect the speekers, mouse, keyboard it blocks and we need to restart it. The thing is that he uses Skype and needs to change between speekers and headphones with mic while the pc is turned on.
He says this hasn't happened before, but only receantly.

So, any of you guys had these issues before?

Thied to google it, but it gave wrong directions.

It "blocks"?
simply
it is enough to
your task is simple;
just
all you need is to

Freezes. Mouse can't move, keyboard doesn't react.

Probably broken drivers. There's tools to get rid of them, but I can't name any off the top of my head.
