My new PC has been getting bluescreens ever since I built it half a year ago.
The most common bluescreen: PAGE_FAULT_IN_NONPAGED_AREA, pointing to VISTA_DRIVER_FAULT and memory_corruption.
Components of interest:
CPU: i7 920
6GB DDR3 GEIL RAM
Intel Postville 80GB SSD
Mobo: Gigabyte EX58-UD5
Running Win7 64bit.
Additionally, I've been getting a stream of NTFS event 55
errors in eventvwr. By a stream, I mean an event every 3-5 seconds for as long as the computer is turned on. This causes chkdsk to run at every boot: it will however not find anything. Running chkntfs in a command prompt however does return that the drive is "dirty".
The bluescreen dumps viewed in windbg point to corrupted memory, I've ran memtest which completed several tests without finding any errors whatsoever. I updated my motherboard/storage controller, so that can't be the issue either. I'm leaning towards either a failing power source or defective motherboard. Even then, I'm still suspicious towards the memory as the bluescreens still happen with the pagefile turned off, ruling out outright HDD failure.
