I have a lot, but don't get your hopes up, most of it is tied up in this restaurant right now.

Hopefully I can sell it for a sweet profit and do what I really want to do with my life.

I'm still for having ToB development housed in your restaurant, instead of hosing it for ToB. All-you-can-eat, a roof above and a bunch of fine lads around; Waitress: yes Sir, anything else?--Cass: Nah, I'm fine, I'll pay in updates, and here I'll tip you off by talking about my game at candle light dinner; Waitress: Oooh, thank you very much, Sir!

The last thing the world needs right now is another standalone AoS, even if the existing ones suck. How about an FPS-RPG:

  • You're the last survivor of a nuclear war between Atlantis and Mohenjo-daro.
  • You were raised in the modern world thanks to the meddling of the Montauk Project.
  • Nicola Tesla is alive and well and running Montauk at 155 years young.
  • Turns out, it's Montauk's shenanigans in the present that led to a nuclear holocaust 6,000 years in the past.
  • Funny thing about time travel: the past is always present. So when Montauk's experiments open a door for Atlantis to come knocking on...

Imagine the set pieces:

  • Montauk under attack by Atlantis.
  • Assault on Trinity to steal "the gadget."
  • Assault on the Philadelphia Experiment to steal cloaking or teleportation technology.
  • Atlantis and Mohenjo-daro themselves.

Etc. Basically just take all the coolest myths, places, conspiracy theories and weave them together.

450 k initial investment in restaurant.
if i sell i'd want to get 600k
max out credit cards and fund a studio for 400k? Maybe. Always need over 100k to survive.

Who knows? Only the future.

Jesus man. If I had that kind of dough I'd just retire to a beach somewhere.

can't retire, it's all hard assets basically, very little is liquid.

If I sold the place then yes, the money would be mine, but right now its basically a 60,000 dollar piece of paper (ABC license), a bunch of permits (also paper), wood, granite, kitchen equipment, etc.

Many times I wake up and wish I could just wave a wand and turn these material objects into actual money in the bank ;/

Basically what I'm trying to say is this, if you have the cash, retire, and don't open a business. It's just so fucking risky. However, a small indy game studio running a single game with an optimal micro transaction formula would make me pretty happy.
