You can't really find good games any more. But if you want games, come on East and stalk me or Gerbilsinmybutt

That's what I was gonna say,

For the past week or so I've been ToBing, and it's usually hosted by Fled or Gerb between 6 and 10 PM EST.

bleh, that's a shame. Even after all these years, ToB is still probably the best game I've ever played.

I'm not sure if it would even be possible, but is there any talk about Cass and the gang putting something together on the SC2 platform?

Isn't that a wee bit early? Since Sc2 isn't out yet.

ToB was started before frozen throne was officially out.

Not that has anything to do with what you're talking about. It's just a fun fact.

Sheeit, I can't even run SC2. UT3 has lower requirements and I can only run that at 5-8 fps.

If I were a nicer person, or a richer one, I would offer you my jet engine desktop that is just sitting around doing nothing since I no longer own a monitor.

What's that about? Get a frakkin monitor.

Pirates, right? If so, the whole "always online" thing will be a hurdle.

Like it's a hurdle to pirating WoW?

IMO bypassing a serial and a no-cd is a bit more tricky than bypassing a tightly integrate service like bnet. Not saying they won't break it eventually, it just needs more time.

CD and serial DRM is more tricky than having to clone B.net or WoW servers? WoW is not played using a tightly integrated service like B.net?

Are you on drugs?

I haven't cracked programs or interested in the subject much, so I really have no clue how long does it take to reverse engineer a server or a serial; but WoW is a multiplayer-only game, unlike SC 2. I would expect some kind of fix/patch to make it offline as well.

Monitors cost money and take up space in my cute albeit small apartment. In fact, I'm pretty sure it even has Windows 7 on it, as my sister had her hands on it for a while, but I will just be using it as a giant, 30 pound external hard drive.

So sad.

Why not save money for an LCD? There are almost indistigusihable from CRT nowadays and don't cost much. Even analog LCD are mkay.

Well, you can't pirate something that doesn't exist in retail. Basically, once the Frozen Throne was leaked with world editor capabilities, I started tinkering with it. I knew tons of people had the game but the majority of those people would be too busy playing it to look at the editor. This is why ToB was possibly the first map to hit with heroes that go above level 10 as well as a bunch of the other new stuff that was enabled by the expansion.

The original plan was to get ToB out the day FT officially hit but we slipped a bit on that.

re: piracy - I still bought FT the day it came out. Just like I will with SC2 or D3.

Do you have a HDTV?

If yes - hook the computer to it and make it a media center.

If no - buy one. NO EXCUSES.

@ Y ac Windy ~

I am in university and so I do not save money, I simply try to slow down the spending of it. So buying a monitor is pretty tough, let alone buying a gorram HDTV. ;_; Unless... you know... my birthday is coming up... :3

That applies to the editor, but all of the closed WC3 betas had pirated B.net clones running so you could still play them online, ladders and all. WoW and Steam games have been handled the same way.

Right - I wasn't referring to that in particular.

Man, I hope the SC2 beta gets leaked like that.
