5 years *shudder*

They're offering me 7 days free because of the 5 year anniversary (big whoop). I dunno if I'm gonna use it or not but is there anyone playing anywhere still?

I was actually going to reactivate my account for the stupid pet. Then I didn't, because that's how they hook you, but I still might, just for those seven days. How sad.

But...but myth! If you want the pet, don't they still have you hooked?

I'll never understand the appeal of WoW as a subscription-based game. If there had been a campaign (single or multiplayer, like NWN) I would have played that. If it had been free to play online (like Guild Wars) I probably would have played that. But in its current form? Eh.

The subscription costs less than renting 2x games a month, it isn't really anything noticeable.

You could buy a new game outright every 1-3 months instead of grinding endlessly through WoW. To me that's the opposite of not noticeable.

That was sort of exactly my point. Look, I played for five years. I was hooked. I am still kicking the habit. :P

99% of games aren't worth paying for.

Let's pretend WoW isn't part of that 99%. So what? 1% of games is still more than you'll ever have time to play. It's a non-trivial fee, both in free time and in cash.

Free time isn't a concern for me atm. Wouldn't be considering WoW otherwise.

If the money is trivial for a new game with 10 hours of gameplay, it's trivial to pay for WoW. And then you mentioned the time investment, so I thought I'd mention that I have all the time in the world atm, cause I thought we'd already covered that I feel the cost is trivial.

I have warm and fuzzy memories from when a bunch of us played together years ago. Warm and fuzzy. If I knew Deagle and Ryvor read this thread, I would ask for clarification regarding the "touch my penis if you want to stay" joke and whether it began in Wc3 or WoW, because these days I do not remember. All I know is that it was a smashing good time, and if we all played together, I would think about upping my account.

Duuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuude. That was FOREVER ago. But such good times. Kellogs was awesome. I still have my Orc Rogue =P

And Myth, I almost completely forgot about that, but now that you mention it, it's all come flooding back to me. It was in WoW, and I think we were in Arathi Highlands, or maybe we were about to enter a dungeon, but we were about to go in but another friend logged on and we had a full group so we were like "crap, how are we going to free up a space" and DE was like "hey, let's start acting weird/gay and freak 'em out" and we started saying ridiculous stuff, culminating with "TOUCH MY PENIS IF YOU WANT TO STAY", which I think got rid of the guy and we got our friend in.

Good times. The only thing stopping me from playing WoW is that I have no friends to play with. I'm with you Myth, if we could get DE or Heroes or more people to play again I probably would. Although I might want to wait for Catyclysm.

I could be persuaded to play again, though at the moment I'm too poor for another server/faction transfer. I actually have yet to stop playing WoW out of a dislike of the game, but the community runs me off rather well sometimes.

My latest hiatus caused by seeing people actually selling halloween custome wand charges for 100g+ in trade chat.

I miss 40 mans. People actually took things a bit more seriously back then, which meant it was just more fun all around.

If we did have enough people interested enough to give it a go again, I do still have a vent server.

I don't have the money to transfer a char either and would probably need to level a new one, but I don't mind having to play catch up so much.

Where, then?
