Recently played some table tennis. first time in twenty years. was pretty good back in the day. expected to be lousy now. but surprised how quickly I got back into it. And also how addicting it is once you get into the flow with a good partner. I don't know of any other sport or computer game that's as fun as table tennis.

Back in May I started playing table tennis again too, after not touching it for about 16 years. Good times.

I also finally bought SC2 last weekend. HotS campaign is as crap as I remember WoL being, hopefully LotV is better. Mod scene looks dead.

I love you like on the first day. I'd like to hug you and not let go.

Maybe we can invite some cosplayers too, for a cozy group hug.

So it's less, you know, weird. uuh. it's like the beginning of Fight Club.

Those therapy sessions. but more sexy. with tears of joy.

Ahaha, since you mentioned SC2, someone made a Warcraft "clone" in voxels, called 8bit Hordes.

But I'm not sure it's actually voxels. at least it mixes things.
Or It might be just regular modeling in a cubistic style for gimmick, dunno.

Hrrm, this new generation of graphics cards is nice. I'm thinking about buying a new one in the next three months or so. It's the jump in vram for little money that interests me most. The currently cheapest way to get 8gb vram is the Radeon 470. Well, I'm very particular in what I'm looking for. Not saying this is the best recommendation for anyone's gaming. But I do think it's a nice value card anyway.

Still, not sure 8gb make actual sense for me. I didn't get to test Blackbox on a computer with even just 6gb or 4gb so far. If it turns out 6gb is the most stable and sensible limit so far, I'd probably go for the Geforce 1060. But if it's even lower at 4gb, it's the Radeon 470 again at that loadout, just for total price savings on latest tech. Though, within three months Nvidea's 1050 should be out, so you never know.

The 470 is such a strange card, for how close it is in price and performance to the 480, and the massive gap that creates to the 460. They kinda mucked that up. It's probably an insecure response to the 1060, because they weren't sure they are offering altogether enough value in the 480 to compete directly, so they placed the 470 close to undercut it. Nvidea gotta respond to that somehow, maybe with a higher TI version of the 1050. But this fierce fighting in the middle is creating a strange gap right now in the lower budget segment. Anyway, competition is good! AMD can't really keep up, but at least they keep pressuring.

Nvidea and Intel are pretty badass but also proven ruthless. It's within their right, but god knows what would happen if we truly were only at their mercy. Almost makes me choose AMD just for balancing market politics. AMD has done a lot of nice things for pushing open standards. Well, I guess, for as long as you are the underdog, at least you would do well to have a Mr. Nice guy image.

But honestly, if I had the money I'd buy a 1080 done deal. because fuck ya'll bitches. POWAaaah.

Now I'm the only one who can't use a smart phone. *high five*

Ever heard of Thomas Sowell? very interesting guy. Read him to learn a lot about libertarian and conservative arguments. Try to honestly understand, people these days rarely do, which doesn't help. This man did his homework, for strong critiques you can learn from, even if they don't persuade you -- dare to diversify your thoughts, it strengthens you. It can be argued that one of the problems Blacks in the US have today, is that their libertarian and conservative voices are marginalized and subdued by white left liberals, in an effort to justify progressively more socialist government policies at large, though socialist policies are not necessarily what helps people. There is evidence that the resulting intellectual and political monoculture that this strategy causes in minority societies, considerably weakens them, to the many effects that bother you, which in turn serves for ever more justification of bad policies. You might be surprised to learn one day, that there is quite the number of people out there that do not agree with the ways you try to help and represent them. That is something one can forget from always having the same kinda fellas around that define your idea about a whole people.

One more name on the list.

I'm in grad school now. Playing around with 21 year old boys is probably the only good part about it.

I always hated school. I'm an early drop out. got no degree whatsoever.
I never went to university, and 99% of people I met from there, I didn't like.

But I won't recommend to someone not to finish school or avoid university.
Remember, I shrub floors and rant on an empty forum. Don't be that guy.
Who gives a fuck about my "project". Become a doctor and save people.

You gotta decide for yourself. There are good reasons for doing it, even though there are problems too.
Maybe it offers training facilities you cannot have at home. Or you get to meet fascinating scholars of a field.
But other than that, probably the most pressing reason is what you expect from life.

Of course no one needs to depend on school for learning something.
But people do this, because they want to provide stable homes for family.
They are willing to fulfill on the expectations and requirements of others.
Thank god. If most people weren't like this, society would go to hell for sure.

Now, where does this place the misfits? We too have a purpose. And it is on us to find it.
If we find it, we are a great boon to society. If we don't we're a curse as much as we're cursed.

If you were clear in your calling, you need no advice. You know what to do. Why you pull through.
Life is no amusement park. Even though there's things I like about what I do, I sure often hate it.
The moments of despair and depression are countless. For whom is it not? you blessed creature.
But what I want to do justifies sacrifice. When I don't know what I want, I regret any choice.

Why would you do this to yourself?

I'm not 13 anymore, graduating from a useless arts degree and probably going into journalism as a career. Had some eSports stuff get published on a small site and some articles got a lot of reads so hopefully that goes somewhere.
