Man, they're rebooting System Shock, with Chris Avellone at the writing.
The KS just started, already half the goal. not surprised. but excited.

Okay, so there is this Starcraft 2 channel: Crank.

The guy is a blast. I've never before enjoyed this much watching SC2. Super entertaining. He's actually live-streaming these matches, and the premise is that people on his Twitch channel make suggestions for strategies and rules and handicaps for his matches. It's often a lot of stupid fun. What makes it so cool is, that the dude was one of the best professional Korean players before his retirement. Even though he's "out of practice", he still got insane skill with which he executes all this stupid shit. He plays this against Master and GrandMaster level opponents on ladder. They don't know what's going on, and play as usual. Since he plays random, and to random rules, it's all different every match. It's a brilliant format for a show, it really is. He does it daily, and tries to make an income from tips.

Like most other people, I stopped caring about SC2 e-sports a long time ago. There are hardly any shoutcast channels anymore, what's left has rather small audiences. However, this channel kinda sparked it up again for me. I find most other e-sports more boring to watch than this. Well, it isn't really an e-sports shoutcast, but a semi-serious fun play stream with lots of excellent moments... so that might be the reason...

Thrice -- To be everywhere is to be nowhere

Hurricane

[Verse 1]
These flowers I found you
Were the truest red that I'd ever seen
Till you cut yourself on their thorns
You winced and I kissed you
And I kissed your palms and we both laughed
So unaware of the gathering storm

[Chorus]
It's gonna rain, it's gonna rain
Till the levee breaks
And a tidal wave of fear and pain carries us away
Another fight into the night
Until nothing else remains
How do we find harbor from the hurricane?

[Verse 2]
Now sheltered in shadows
The quiet song of your breath stirs the dark
Your skin like the rose 'neath my hand
And I can't keep from wondering
Why nothing good could ever stay
Why faith feels like a fistful of sand

[Chorus x2]
It's gonna rain, it's gonna rain
Till the levee breaks
And a tidal wave of fear and pain carries us away
Another fight into the night
Until nothing else remains
How do we find harbor from the hurricane?

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Blood on the Sand

[Verse 1- Dustin Kensrue (Eddie and Riley Breckenridge)]
We wave our flags, we swallow fear like medicine
We kiss the hands of profiteers and their congressmen
But I've seen too much (of this fear and hate)
I've had enough (and I'm not afraid)
To raise a shout, to make it clear
This has to end

[Chorus- Dustin Kensrue]
There's blood on the sand, there's blood in the street
And there's a there's a gun in my hand, or there might as well be
And I'm sick of it — I’m so sick of this

[Verse 2- Dustin Kensrue (Eddie and Riley Breckenridge)]
We panic at the sight of different-colored skin
And we've got a plan to justify each mess we're in
But I've seen too much (of this fear and hate)
I've had enough (and I'm not afraid)
To take a stand, to make it right — this has to end

[Chorus- Dustin Kensrue]

There's blood on the sand, there's blood in the street
And there's a there's a gun in my hand, or there might as well be
And I'm sick of it — I’m so sick of this

[Bridge- Dustin Kensrue]
Fear will kill your mind and steal your love as sure as anything
Fear will rob you blind and make you numb to others' suffering
And I've felt its touch too many times and I've had enough
I've had enough!

[Chorus- Dustin Kensrue]
There's blood on the sand, there's blood in the street
And there's a gun in your hand, or there might as well be
Are you sick of it? — I’m so sick of this

There's blood on the sand, there's blood in the street
There's a gun in your hand, or there might as well be
Aren't you sick of it? I'm just sick of this
Cause I'm sick, I'm sick of this
I'm so sick of this

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

The Window

[Verse 1]
All that I've known's within the walls of this room
Where there's a window, roughly boarded up
It's true the gaps are patched
But even through the tiny cracks I feel a wind blow
I see a light of strangest hue

[Chorus]
And there's nothing I can say - there's no way I can prove
That there's a place beyond this room
But still, there's something in the way the light comes shining through
And in the way the curtains move

[Verse 2]
Late in the night I lay awake, my eyes fixed on the window
I strained my ears until I thought that I might have heard a song
Somehow hiding in the soft glow
Old as time and ever new

[Chorus]

There's nothing I can say - there's no way I can prove
That there's a place beyond this room
But still, there's something in the way the light comes shining through
And in the way the curtains move

[Bridge]
I found a note scratched in the wall
In a pained and earnest scrawl
The hand, I recognized, was somehow mine ...
I read each line with dread:
"There's no wind and there's no light
There's no song you hear at night
There's nowhere to hide, be terrified
It's all inside your head"

[Outro]
But still there's something in the way
The light comes shining through
And in the way - in the way the curtains move

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Wake Up

[Verse 1]
Just a little sleep, a little slumber
Little folding of the hands to rest
That's what we tell ourselves
But we know we're gonna just lay here till the sun's gone west

[Bridge 1]
But there are foxes in the garden
And there's an armed man at the door

[Verse 2]
When the wind is right and the skies show favor
When the heat has died and the day is cool
We tell ourselves that we'll do it later
When we know full well that that ain't true

[Bridge 2]
And now there’s wolves at every window
The mob is breaking down the door

[Chorus 1]
Come on, we gotta wake up!
We gotta wake up!
We gotta wake up!
I hear them coming back for more
We gotta wake up!

[Verse 3]

Oh, we say we'll do it when things settle down
We say we'll do it when this season's through
We say we'll do it when we get around to it
But it's already overdue

[Bridge 1]
And there are foxes in the garden
And there's an armed man at the door

[Verse 4]
Tomorrow's song is a siren singing
Such a sweet and subtle lullaby
Tomorrow's song has got us clinging
To the promise of the by and by

[Bridge 2]
And now there’s wolves at every window
The mob is breaking down the door

[Chorus 2]
Come on, we gotta wake up!
We gotta wake up!
We gotta wake up!
I hear them coming back for more
Come on, we gotta wake up!
We gotta wake up!
We gotta wake up!
Oh, I think they're gathering for war

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

The Long Defeat

[Verse 1]
The tyranny of deterioration
It worries me that it's all just a waste of time
Taking one step forward, two steps back
Still I believe there's a thread through the thorns
Yeah I believe that somewhere it's warm
And I believe that it's ever bright beyond this black

[Chorus]
So keep holding on to hope without assurance
Holding on to a memory of light
But will the morning come?
For all I know we’ll never see the sun
But together we’ll fight the long defeat

[Verse 2]
The suffering that I see all around
It's enough to keep me crashing down till I
I lie wrecked and reeling from these falls
Still I believe there's a word in the wire
And I believe there's a way through the fire
And I believe there's a joy that blooms beyond these walls

[Chorus]
So keep holding on to hope without assurance
Holding on to a memory of light
But will the morning come?
For all I know we’ll never see the sun
But together we’ll fight the long defeat

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Black Honey

I keep swingin' my hand through a swarm of bees cause I
I want honey on my table
I keep swingin' my hand through a swarm of bees cause I
I want honey on my table

But I never get it right
No, I never get it right

I keep swingin' my hand through a swarm of bees;
I can't understand why they're stingin' me
But I'll do what I want
I'll do what I please
I'll do it again 'til I've got what I need
I'll rip and smash through the hornet's nest
Do you understand I deserve the best?
'Til you do what I want
I'll do what I please
I'll do it again 'til I've got what I need

I try to stick this pin through a butterfly cause I
I like all the pretty colors
It just fell apart, so I flung it in the fire
To burn with all the others

Cause I never get it right
No, I never get it right

I keep swinging my hand through a swarm of bees
I can't understand why they're stinging me
But I'll do what I want
I'll do what I please

I'll do it again 'til I've got what I need
I'll rip and smash through the hornet's nest
Do you understand I deserve the best?
'Til you do what I want
I'll do what I please;
I'll do it again 'til I've got what I need

This time, I'll get it right
This time, I'll get it right
It's gonna be this time
I'll get it right
God, let it be this time
I get it right

So I'm cuttin' that branch off the cherry tree
Singin' this will be my victory
Then I
See them comin' after me
And they're followin me across the sea
And now they're stingin my friends and my family
And I
Don't know why this is happening
But I'll do what I want
I'll do what I please
I'll do it again 'til I've got what I need

I keep swingin' my hand through a swarm of bees cause I
I want honey on my table

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Stay with Me

[Verse 1]
You were a silhouette, shimmering shadow in the mingled ash and snow
I took your fevered hands - felt like embers of the world's dying glow
And you were feather light as I carried you quietly through the crumbling streets
And in the fading light I could see in your eyes that somehow we were meant to meet

[Pre-Chorus]
But would you stay with me
If you thought the war was over
And everything made right?
Would you still believe in us?
And would your love for me grow colder
With no one left to fight?

[Chorus]
Would you stay with me?
Would you stay with me?

[Verse 2]
After the fever left, together we'd scavage through the city and her scars
And when the day would end, bar the door against the demons and the dark
We'd share a can of something and the bottle of bourbon I had hid away
It'd warm me from within and you from without till I forget the chill and gray

[Pre-Chorus]
Would you stay with me

If you thought the war was over
And everything made right?
Would you still believe in us?
And would your love for me grow colder
With no one left to fight?

[Chorus]
Would you stay with me?
Would you stay with me?

[Bridge]
Oh, it seems like every night, I lie in bed and worry that the world would start to heal
Now I'm terrified that if it did you'd start to ask if what we have is real

[Pre-Chorus]
Would you stay with me
If you thought the war was over
And everything made right?
Would you still believe in us?
And would your love for me grow colder
With no one left to fight?

[Chorus]
Would you stay with me?
Would you stay with me?

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Death from Above

I always thought, I always thought
That there was something different setting us apart
That I was lead, that I was lead
By men with sober minds and sympathetic hearts
I swore and oath, i swore an oath
But never knew just what it was to take a life
To play a god, to play a god
across the distances from so great of heights

But I am never sure
Who I am killing
How many innocents
Are in these buildings
I dropped death down on them
No love for human beings
No love for people
Just targets on the screen
None of them see that
I dropped death out of the sky
Tell me why

One day they sent, one day the sent
Me to the chaplain when I said I can't go on
And all he said, and all he said
Was just to shut my mouth and do the will of God

But I am never sure
Who I am killing
How many innocents
Are in these buildings
I dropped death down on them
No love for human beings
No love for people
Just targets on the screen
None of them see that
I dropped death out of the sky
Tell me why

Tell me why...
"To make us safe," so it would seem
But we shoot further than we dream
Can't we see? We only justify
Someone's resolve to rise against
And to avenge the innocent
And defend the ones that still survive

I'm still asking "why"

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Whistleblower

[Verse 1]
You told me not to worry
It's all for the greater good
Who made you judge and jury?
Who gave you the axe and hood?
You wanted it sealed

[Chorus]
I'll tell the real story
I'm the bird that sings
I'm the whistleblower
Wake up and take warning
Congressmen and kings
I'm the whistleblower
Waiting in the wings

[Verse 2]
You told me keep it quiet
That I'd ruin everything
But I'd rather start a riot
Than help you pull these strings
You told me to kneel

[Chorus]
I'll tell the real story
I'm the bird that sings
I'm the whistleblower
Wake up and take warning
Congressmen and kings
I'm the whistleblower
Waiting in the wings

Watching, waiting in the wings

[Chorus]
I'll tell the real story
I'm the bird that sings
I'm the whistleblower
Wake up and take warning
Congressmen and kings
I'm the whistleblower
Waiting in the wings

Watching, waiting in the wings
Watching, waiting in the wings

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Salt and Shadow

[Verse 1]
The sky took its cue, every color and hue on display
Till thick veils of indigo signaled the end of the day
But each landscape that lies in the mirror of your eyes turns to grey

Ooh, ooh
Ooh, ooh

[Verse 2]
On the edge of a knife, it's like you're living your life on the stage
You're talking through glass, we're just square photographs on a page
Oh, we're never alone but we're each in our own little cage

Ooh, ooh
Ooh, ooh

[Chorus]
You're here but it's clear you're just salt and shadow

Here, but half a world away
You're here, but you're merely a hologram
Here, still so far away

Ooh, ooh
Ooh, ooh

[Verse 3]
You manage to hide even here by my side where we lay
Here on this bed where I sense every thread start to fray
And I feel our skin touch but there's only so much it can say

[Chorus x3]
You're here but it's clear
You're just salt and shadow
Here half a world away
You're here but you're nearly a hologram
Here, still so far away

Powerful songs indeed. But I'm glad that those people that work hard everyday to actually improve the world little by little, keep their heads cool and focused, instead of indulging their "feelings" like a drunkard. A doctor helps best by sacrificing his own humanity. A fire fighter has a cold plan to save lives. And you wouldn't want someone who calls himself your "friend", to hand you a knife and say "go get them, tiger", every time you're angry. A friend wouldn't want that you throw your life away in regretful bloodlust and stoked paranoia, that provokes the worst nightmares to come true. And a friend wouldn't try to sell own motivations as your best interest. A good friend helps you dream about a better life. A good friend gives you a hand when you lose your way working towards your dream. A good friend has you find the needed peace.

So I wonder. How many lives is a system worth. How many lives is its destruction worth. A lot of people that keep a system running do so out of responsible duty, because they know that lives depend on it. A nurse has it tough. She knows the system is not good enough. But she knows that people need her. That she must make do with what she got. Who else would do her work? Who else will make the sacrifice, instead of making excuses. When she doesn't go to work, people die. When she doesn't bring money home, family goes hungry. She's no fool, she knows the terrible game she's in. In many ways of life, it's not about the system, it's not about fighting the system, it's not about even you, it's about people that need you. You are not enlightened for letting them down. That realization is what it means to grow up.

I also feel sorry for all the brave policemen that risk everyday their lives in the real world to keep the public space save for all people -- the one and only save space that really matters. Problem is, there is this generation of people taught to fear the system, far beyond anything reasonable, making every moment explosively tense for everyone involved in what should be routine, leading to a vicious cycle of self-fulfilling prophecy. And to "fight the system", taught to agitate and provoke in the very worst ways at every turn they get, individuals that willingly escalate every situation into a bloody mess, just to create ever more ammunition for a questionable warfare on mainstream culture, their very lives put on stake for wild phantasms. I do wonder who really is the pawn in the game. Who so cold-hearted calculating, as to abuse and distort issues of race and gender for a pointless war against Capitalism, in an "activism" that has promising people throw themselves away in a swirling madness that makes everything worse for everyone.

We are at an interesting point in time for sure. I had already lost all hope for humanity. Now I am simply awe struck at how things have taken a turn recently. How a decade of rampant lies and anti-intellectuality unravels and explodes in the face of inept children that dreamed themselves the masters of other's fate. When for most of my life I was a political alt-left-winger with pride, until I wouldn't recognize it anymore, and now find myself feeling alt-right-winger, how confused and startled I am at this transformation. Once again I had the instinct to be on the unfolding good side of history, in the needed revolution for true progression. Feels good, man. "It get's better". God is gay. Thank you, Milo. Nature's anti-body to a dangerous strain of virus, on the verge of systemic collapse. Told you there might be a deeper genetic reason, for social functions beyond reproductive reasons, the gay men are our medicine when straight madness in relationships threatens our survival. Hopefully this will be better understood and appreciated from now on. But I should have known even better: That a species that survived so many millennia is more resilient than we gave credit for. It's probably not the first time that this SJW type of mental illness destroyed civilizations. And through the wonder of natural selection, we earned our privilege for continued existence today.

The theories of economics describing the behaviour of people in a market, is like the theory of evolution or the theories of physics. It's about something you try to understand, though unable to fundamentally change or destroy. Every oppressive regime that tries to just fight capitalism, is inevitably eroded and destroyed itself, by the basic forces of what happens when people meet. We must study and live with it, like you must learn walking without falling on your nose from gravity. There is nothing to gain in hating it, that's just living in denial. And these problems don't vanish from defeating money and banks. or the western world.

The ever so petty ways some people feel oppressed by "the system" these days, seems to me like someone feeling oppressed by their own body, that they have to eat everyday, go to the toilet, brush teeth, workout and wash. Of course this is often bothersome. But that's just life. There is a point when feeling chronically at odds with the very basics of how life works, is not enlightenment but a mental health problem. Yes, sir, people have expectations on you, rightfully so, and you are supposed to earn your living to the best of your ability, and bargain with your fellow human beings. That is as natural as the sun rising in the morning to wake you up for that.

From the sound of the critiques, you'd often think the western world would have invented capitalism, racism, sexism, nationalism, war, poverty, slavery, with whatever biblical sins you take issue with, and oh if only we could somehow defeat the western world, all these problems would suddenly disappear, and it would be a so much better and nicer place. Are you really so diluted in your sick self-hatred to think it took only the white man for that? People have always done these terrible things to each other, much worse, all on their own, all the time, long before there were whites, all the while there are whites, and long after whatever else there will be other than a tiny minority of whites. Everyone who ever lived has blood on their hands, and was done to, just as they did, in a long history of desperation and struggle all the world over. And whatever the western world does, most other countries would like to do twice as bad given the chance, because many of their societies are currently worth critique twice as hard.

We do really have serious problems in the world, with little time anymore to solve for everyone, this is our true responsibility, but these will not be solved with distractive self-mutilation. They definitely will not be solved by socialism either, nor any hysteric misdirection that slows us down. Socialism is what happens more of whenever we can afford it, the more of our fundamental problems are solved beforehand. It is as much desirable by anyone as it is a fantastic dream, that on a greater scale turns out very difficult to maintain without dire side-effects up to collapse. It's not capitalism's fault that socialism never really worked. Unless you call it the pavement's fault that you stubbed your toe.

From defeating illness to feeding the world, it needs nothing less than miraculous ideas making it all work to the actually uncontentious satisfaction of all people. Do you really think just because we defeat the evils of money and banks, suddenly it's all good? Heavens, these are just arbitrary tokens representing far bigger problems underneath, conflicting interests so elementary that you can't just solve with social engineering. Money and banks are not the problem but currently needed part of the solution to get where we ultimately need to go. In the meantime, things are looking less than ideal, but before you get carried away in the horror, consider this: some things look bad now, but there are other things that will look even worse if our development is too slow. Ever more people are born everyday. They have needs and produce waste. And they don't like being told how to live their lives. This is not just about what problems technology has. It's racing the clock against what problems humans have regardless, but in ever more need of it.

Think you can reasonably improve the situation at least a little meanwhile? Well, what are you waiting for, get to it. But it has to prove itself more useful than just manic protest. It actually has to do something. Concretely. And it must pass regular peer review due process, for showing actual viability by respectable experts of their trade, not wishful thinking because "it's all so awful". No one has time for ghost drivers crashing cars, on top of the fucked up traffic jam.

That the Left is so confused as to haunt and expel people like Sam Harris, is its doom.

If you buy into the SJW notion of fighting Islamophobia, you are fighting against people like these:

That a founding Feminist like Christina Hoff Sommers has been turned into a pariah, is why it has completely lost itself.

That you can't have these discussions on the established progressive media, explains why Milo and Trump have such an easy game today.

The Left thought Trump means the Right has destroyed itself. But really it means the Left has destroyed itself. And will pay dearly this fall.
