So, about that Dota 2...

Postby Ryzel » Wed Jun 19, 2013 9:37 am

...I see a ton of you guys on it. Maybe we can organize times or something where we're all on? I'd be down to play if we could get a 5 man going.

Kaz have you been HotSing? I still haven't gotten it cause of financial stuff but if you're playing I'll be more motivated to buy it.

I'm REVENGE OF THE COMATOSE EMPEROR on steam. And you're already in my list, Ryzel.

EU/NA lag is very bearable, although slightly noticeable.

No idea. The idea that they managed to gamify a games library application, then having twerps fall for it and actually spend money on getting to higher levels is endlessly amusing.

Exploiting people and then giving them the illusion that you brought them joy is easier than you'd think. It's also something to be wary of, as it's an unsustainable business model.

I started playing again this week because LoL is getting mega stale, my steam url is moephistopheles

honestly I'm pretty surprised DotA 2 is significantly better than LoL without being particularly innovative with anything, not to mention the LoL balance team are massive morons

I watched a competitive LoL match a few days ago for 5 minutes. Good grief, that game is shallow and boring.

If you're making a pay2win game and become obscenely rich because of it, you might as well hire some people who know how to make good games.

That's basically what happens when the company, not the players, decide the meta since anything not intentional, even if it isn't gamebreaking and is just a smart use of the mechanics of the game, is either nerfed to death or completely removed. The only interesting teams are the Korean and Chinese ones since they are usually the ones who use these sorts of tricks.

LoL can only really move on when they sack Morello (the lead champ designer/balancer) because the ideas he has for the game are really awful.
