What's love AoS got to do with it? Blizzard should have the AoS scene on lockdown anyway (etc.).

Oh yeah, if they time the release of the expansion with the release of that Blizzard Allstars AoS, that would be what's "on that plate" to have the rebound casuals stick and reignite shit.

I'm thinking in economic terms. With no demand for good maps, it's less likely that map makers will step up.

Funny, there's no demand for bad maps either, and yet they are made a plenty. The population is there, and just like every creator thinks his shit's good for realz, he assumes his will be what persuades the people. The most significant control variable in that process is Blizzard's production and support compared to the rest of the market.

These write-ups are always so divorced from reality. Blizzard and "compelling dialogue" don't belong in the same sentence.

All-Stars they should just outsource to the community. No Only puns allowed.

Especially since Blizzard is not just any teller but a game maker, where "dialogue" becomes a term of unique distinction from any other story medium: Most of all a game's story should be in dialogue with the player, rather than the dialogue be a monologue of the story; this is the reason of story in game, rather than film, novel, comic; the story is the game, you play the story, you too tell the story, there is no game and play without freedom; if story can't be played, don't tell-tack story in that game; sadly, that is increasingly what they are doing to "grow and add value" to their intellectual property nuisance.

And just imagine the selection process of companies with a history of weak writing. I bet when they look at the applicants, they don't read the actual works to choose based on what's well done, rather they choose based on data about the writing, the "success" and "qualification". In turn that guy later helps judge applicants to set example, and so the "style of writing that works for video games" perpetuates. In cutscenes of cliche.

Even the selection of competence needs competence. Everything stands and falls with the foundation. It's more likely a team falls apart than to make a notable change of course. For all their power Blizzard won't ever touch Bioware. Let alone Bioware ever touching Tim Schafer. God, that name turns me into a gay groupie.

Needless to say, I never expected to have a crush on a sc2 player. Stephano, I'd play your game, everyday.

Stephano is my motherfucking hero. Not only is he the sexiest, most awesome guy to be good at SC2, he's currently THE best non-Korean SC2 pro-gamer in the world. In every single one of his games he's super well-mannered and you can tell he plays to have fun. Oh, and he plays zerg.

You'll have to get in line RAV, his babies are mine.

Something similar to DotA Pornstars could actually come, which would relieve the genre of its current funk.

I'm glad Stephano actually started, you know, practicing and having a schedule instead of just drinking and turning up. Although I feel like he's great because he is so chilled, and is far more laid back than other players. He's like a slightly more mannered MC: chilled out and fun to watch both in and out of game.

That being said, Destiny is still my favourite streamer/player. I think besides Stephano and STBomber he's the only streamer I have a lot of fun watching. Catz is ok, but I don't like the pace of his stream. He's another player that's come really far though, he beat Idra a few months back.

Root Gaming, too, are looking really hot. They just picked up ToD, even though him and Destiny have beef (which was fun to watch during their clan wars recently) and they are taking the game really seriously as opposed to last time when the group was really a hot mess. It's great to see how much they've matured, at least on that side of things.

Destiny is also an obnoxiously immature homophobe.

I like Gaulzi. He's sexier than Stephano.

Appreantly those latest patches made an "Arcade" section, that's supposed to better organize custom maps, not only for the players but also for the makers. Heard they still want to release the Marketplace, where people can sell their maps; maybe their own Dota will be released alongside/inside the Marketplace when that hits.

Cassiel wrote:Dope. [Dishonored Trailer]

Hell yeah, I really dig their world building, and if only half of what they've said holds, the game's awesome as well. all FPS hope rests on Dishonored, Bioshock:Infinite... and NS2 (omgomgomg they just released the mega "Titanium" patch, including the EXOSUIT omgomgomg).

Zeuter wrote:...obnoxiously immature homophobe.

That just reminded me of the reboot of Devil May Cry. One of the best reboots I've seen yet, because it's one of the best culture translations. They took what looks like a run-of-the-mill anime badass, and translated what that character's japanese anime aesthetics would mean in the context of contemorary western mind. That's how you do it. The result is what looks like a sexually pretty ambigious, New York City backally callboy orphan trash with a tough abusive childhood, who had to learn how to kick and be a bad ass and not give a fuck. I'm not saying the game's good, but find the thematic translation to this reboot ballsy for a game. Of course it makes 'japanophile' tear up, like "Oh noes, where's his white emo hair?! Worst sequel ever!". Duh.

The problem with the new DmC (not actually a reboot at this point, it's simply an alt story, fan backlash at it being a reboot was too big), is well, the new Dante is a director insert. The character is modeled after, and I believe, voiced by the game's director. People liked the original Dante because he was a giant ham, with an overblown sense of style, the new one is a generic "gritty" hood rat.

Frankly, the game would be getting much better reception if it didn't bear the DmC title at all.

I need to update Steam, but I'm down.

GenStrike messaged me on LoL too and said he plays pretty frequently as well.

The game devs of natural selection 2 gave a free extra copy of the game to everyone who pre-ordered. Anyone wants mine? Requires Steam.

Note you won't be able to play it until the game is released on Halloween.
